Genoa Cymysgedd o hanes a diwylliant

Hedfan o Gaerdydd i Genoa gannewidawyrenunwaith yn unig

Efallai nad yw Genoa yn un o gyrchfannau mwyaf poblogaidd yr Eidal i dwristiaid, ond mae hyn yn dipyn o fantais i’r ddinas, gan ei fod yn golygu ei bod wedi cadw ei chymeriad hanesyddol. Yma, gall ymwelwyr brofi sut beth yn union yw bywyd yn yr Eidal, gan nad oes twristiaid ym mhob man, fel sy’n wir am rai o gyrchfannau mwy poblogaidd yr Eidal.

Yn swatio rhwng bryniau ac ar lan y môr, mae Genoa wedi datblygu’n gyflym yn ddinas gosmopolitan. Hon yw chweched dinas fwyaf yr Eidal, ac yma mae porthladd mwyaf y wlad a dyna’r rheswm pam mae’r ddinas yn parhau i ffynnu. Yn 2004, enillodd deitl Dinas Diwylliant Ewrop, gan allu brolio acwariwm mwyaf Ewrop, amgueddfeydd gwych a bwytai rhagorol. Mae’r wedd newydd hon ar Genoa yn cyd-fyw’n dwt â hen ran y ddinas, sy’n llawn strydoedd cul ac atyniadau hynafol.

Mae Genoa yn ddelfrydol ar gyfer y rhai sy’n chwilio am wyliau gwahanol mewn dinas, neu am rywle i’w archwilio yn rhan o antur hirach yn yr Eidal. Ar ôl dod o hyd i Genoa, mae’n amhosibl peidio â syrthio mewn cariad â’r rhan hon o’r Eidal.

Take the train to the mountains to overlook Genoa. Genoa is built at the foot of/into mountains and for only a couple euro (literally 1 or 2) take the Funicalar (maybe not exactly right) train up the mountain and then you get a very lovely view when you get to the top.

Getting lost in old town is always good fun. Take a walk around the old town down all the back alleys (mind the ones where the hookers hang out though - it is a port after all) and see the Piazza de Ferrari, Cathedral and there is a renaissance art museum as well. Shops are local and sell quite unique gifts.

Porto Fino: Is about 40km away from Genoa (great for a day trip). Amazing coastal path there looking at the whole of the coastline (there are a couple hills mind) but easy enough to get to via train from Genoa central or you can cycle there.
