We are excited to be looking for a part time permanent Site Support Operative – Cleaner to be part of our busy Site Support team working at the Airport.  

The role will be Monday to Friday, 25 hours per week.

About the role

You will be responsible for maintaining excellence in terms of presentation and cleanliness across all areas of the airport, upholding high standards of health and safety and always providing first class customer service to our customers and partner agencies.

About you

You will need to have excellent customer service skills and previous cleaning experience.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Records Check will be required

Facilities Management Technician (Aeronautical Ground Lighting)

The post holder will be part of the Cardiff Airport and St Athan F.M. Department team, reporting to the Technical Department Manager.

The post holder primary duties will be centered around the Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) but when required undertaking general FM duties and maintenance to support operational requirements

The post holder should be pro-active and able to work well both individually and as part of a team with the ability to develop their own personal skills and the skills of those around them.

As part of a team, you will be responsible to help successfully deliver the Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) contract, this will include fulfilling its statutory obligations by providing a full planned maintenance schedule of works whilst also providing a reactive breakdown response, thus harmonising both customer and organisational requirements.

The post holder must be prepared for shift working, along with the participation of call out duties and occasional overtime to support operational requirements.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, resilient, and organised Facilities Mechanical Technician to join our passionate and busy Facilities team operating across both Cardiff International Airport and St Athan Aerodrome.


This is a vital role, where the postholder will be responsible for supporting the delivery of an effective and efficient technical services and facilities maintenance function across both sites.

About the role

The successful candidate will provide and assist in the provision of the Facilities Maintenance Services on behalf of Cardiff Airport & St Athan Aerodrome and act as an integral part of the aerodrome & terminal Facilities Maintenance Team. They will primarily be responsible to help successful delivery of the planned maintenance regime, fulfilling industry and aviation statutory obligations, whilst also providing a breakdown reactive response harmonising both customer and organisational requirements across 2 airfields and associated infra-structure.

The position is open to applicants who can demonstrate that they can work effectively both individually and within a team environment, have strong communication skills, self-discipline and work a rotating shift pattern.

 

About you

You must have time served indentured Apprenticeship or similar in the Mechanical Engineering sector. The successful candidate will need to have previous experience with plumbing, heating and hot water systems and be adaptable to learn about a range of new systems both mechanical and electrical utilised within the work environment.

Fire Services Manager – Cardiff Airport and St Athan Aerodrome
POST:  Fire Services Manager – Cardiff Airport and St Athan Aerodrome
TENURE:    Permanent
HOURS:  37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

 

Cardiff Airport is an important part of the transport infrastructure in Wales and a major contributor to the local economy, supporting 2,400 aviation-related jobs.  As the national airport for Wales, it drives over £246m of direct economic benefit to the region every year with over 30% of passengers being visitors to the country. Prior to COVID-19 passenger growth had reached over 50% since the Airport came under public ownership in 2013. This growth reflects the Airport’s position as not only a point of departure, but also as a key international gateway for visitors to the UK.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cardiff Airport airfield has remained open as it is vital, as a key part of the national infrastructure, that it remains in a position to support any essential flying for the UK whether it be freight, emergency, or other essential or legitimate travel.

St Athan airfield is also managed, operated and maintained by Cardiff Airport, and handles military, training and other non-passenger flights.

A permanent position has become available for an experienced, professional and knowledgeable Fire Services Manager, with proven abilities to effectively manage a team of firefighters as part of the Cardiff Airport Team that operates between Cardiff Airport and St Athan Aerodrome. Reporting directly to the Head of Airfield Operations for Cardiff Airport and St Athan Aerodrome, the successful candidate will be part of the Cardiff Airport management team responsible for the safe, effective and efficient operational output of Rescue and Fire Fighting Services at Cardiff Airport and St Athan Aerodrome.

 

Candidates will need to have the following:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Fire & Rescue or Airfield management position, with previous relevant operational experience to support this.
  • A solid understanding of aviation Fire Fighting tactics, techniques, and procedures, with an in-depth knowledge of CAA and EASA regulatory requirements relating to airport RFFS.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability and willingness to effectively communicate at all levels within the business.
  • The ability to effectively plan and organise their workload, prioritising tasks to maintain operational output.
  • Experience in the planning and delivery of Emergency Exercises.
  • Experience in the management of operational budgets, with the ability to be innovative in the utilisation of assets to realise opportunities of income generation.

The airport operates on a 24/7 basis and the successful candidate will be flexible and committed to attending at short notice for operational reasons, for example, special events and adverse weather conditions.

 

Please note the successful candidate will be asked to complete a DBS check to comply with Department for Transport regulations.
