About us
Cardiff Airport is the national airport for Wales and an important part of the national transport infrastructure. The airport is a major contributor to the Welsh economy, supporting 2,400 aviation-related jobs and driving over £246m of direct economic benefit to the region annually. In 2019, the year prior to COVID-19, our passenger numbers were at 1.6 million with a historic growth rate of 50% over 7 years. That growth reflects the rapid developments in our catchment area and the Airport’s position as an important gateway for the economic developments in Wales acting as a key international port for visitors to the UK.
We are in the phase of rebuilding our business following the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the Aviation industry begins to recover from the crisis, this role will be key in ensuring our revival targets are achieved through building on our focus of developing aviation and aerospace partnerships.
Cardiff Airport also manages the operations and maintenance at St Athan and Anglesey airfields.
