We have a number of positions available within the Terminal Team at Cardiff Airport for the role of a Terminal Services Assistant. The role is within a customer focused environment, working shifts covering a 24-hour period across seven days a week.

We have part/full time Seasonal opportunities available.

About the role

Reporting to the Terminal Operations Manager in providing an excellent standard of service to passengers. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining excellence in terms of presentation and cleanliness across all areas of the airport, following enhanced cleaning procedures, upholding high standards of health and safety, and always providing first class customer service. You will be required to work collaboratively with other departments across the airport assisting in duties where required to do so. 

Full in-post training will be given.

 About you

You will need to have excellent customer service skills gained in a customer facing environment, good physical health, a positive can-do attitude and a firm commitment to the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion. Good interpersonal skills are essential and an ability to work without supervision ensuring initiative is shown in your working ethic.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Successful competition of a Criminal Records Check will be required
  • Full Clean Driving Licence

Facilities Management Technician (Aeronautical Ground Lighting)

Facilities Management Technician (Aeronautical Ground Lighting)

The post holder will be part of the Cardiff Airport and St Athan F.M. Department team, reporting to the Technical Department Manager.

The post holder primary duties will be centered around the Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) but when required undertaking general FM duties and maintenance to support operational requirements

The post holder should be pro-active and able to work well both individually and as part of a team with the ability to develop their own personal skills and the skills of those around them.

As part of a team, you will be responsible to help successfully deliver the Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) contract, this will include fulfilling its statutory obligations by providing a full planned maintenance schedule of works whilst also providing a reactive breakdown response, thus harmonising both customer and organisational requirements.

The post holder must be prepared for shift working, along with the participation of call out duties and occasional overtime to support operational requirements.

Facilities Management - Technical Supervisor (Mechanical or Electrical background)

Cardiff Airport is an important part of the transport infrastructure in Wales and a major contributor to the local economy, supporting 2,400 aviation-related jobs.  As the national airport for Wales, it drives over £246m of direct economic benefit to the region every year with over 30% of passengers being visitors to the country. Prior to COVID-19 passenger growth had reached over 50% since the Airport came under public ownership in 2013. This growth reflects the Airport’s position as not only a point of departure, but also as a key international gateway for visitors to the UK.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cardiff Airport airfield has remained open as it is vital, as a key part of the national infrastructure that it remains in a position to support any essential flying for the UK whether it be freight, emergency, or other essential or legitimate travel.

St Athan airfield is also managed, operated and maintained by Cardiff Airport, and handles military, training and other non-passenger flights.

A full-time Technical Supervisor (Mechanical or Electrical) position has become available within the Facilities team at Cardiff Airport, the national airport for Wales, with an immediate start.

The successful candidate will support delivery of an effective and efficient technical services and facilities maintenance function across each of the Cardiff Airport sites. Along with supervision of technical staff in order to maximise and ensure delivery of a complete maintenance service across the Cardiff Airport & St Athan sites.

Candidates must be able to work with the community to educate and deliver to the benefit of the public. The position is open to applicants who can demonstrate that they can lead and work effectively in a team environment, have strong communication skills, self-discipline and work the business core hours Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will provide and assist in the provision of the Electrical and Facilities Maintenance Services on behalf of Cardiff Airport & St Athan Aerodrome and act as an integral part of the aerodrome  & terminal Facilities Maintenance Team. He/She will primarily be responsible to help successful delivery of the planned maintenance regime, fulfilling industry and aviation statutory obligations, whilst also providing a breakdown reactive response harmonising both customer and organisational requirements across 2 airfields. 

Candidates must be able to work with the community to educate and deliver to the benefit of the public. The position is open to applicants who can demonstrate that they can work effectively in a team environment, have strong communication skills, self-discipline and work a rotating shift pattern.

ICT Operations Engineer – 2nd Line Support

The role of the ICT Operations Engineer is a vital role within out IT Team and has been created to provide 2nd line support and management of the Airports operational systems. The successful candidate with be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of key systems critical to the operation and help deliver new projects.

 The ICT Operations Engineer will be the point of escalation for the ICT Support Engineer and will be responsible for:

  • Operations & Security – Monitoring and management of the organisation’s key operational systems to ensure that the service is always available whilst remaining secure and compliant. Being customer focused at all times.
  • Technical Support – Working within a team, providing 1st and 2nd line support for the business by identifying issues and dealing with them proactively. Using initiative to recommend solutions which will help the service to improve.
  • Troubleshooting & Integration – Being self-motivated when developing solutions to issues causing system and application problems. Adapting to ever changing business needs by devising solutions to complex system integration and configuration requirements.
  • Documentation & Training – Ensuring that all documentation is created and kept up to date. Mentoring and cross training team members on existing and new technologies.

This is a hands-on role, with a need to work in and around the vibrant nature of the Airport. You will be predominantly based at the Cardiff Airport site but there will be a requirement to also attend St Athan and Anglesey airfields when required. You will have every opportunity to work on exciting new technologies and systems.

TENURE:    Permanent
HOURS:  37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

A permanent position has become available for an experienced, professional and knowledgeable Fire Services Manager, with proven abilities to effectively manage a team of firefighters as part of the Cardiff Airport Team that operates between Cardiff Airport and St Athan Aerodrome. Reporting directly to the Head of Airfield Operations for Cardiff Airport and St Athan Aerodrome, the successful candidate will be part of the Cardiff Airport management team responsible for the safe, effective and efficient operational output of Rescue and Fire Fighting Services at Cardiff Airport and St Athan Aerodrome.

 

Candidates will need to have the following:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Fire & Rescue or Airfield management position, with previous relevant operational experience to support this.
  • A solid understanding of aviation Fire Fighting tactics, techniques, and procedures, with an in-depth knowledge of CAA and EASA regulatory requirements relating to airport RFFS.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability and willingness to effectively communicate at all levels within the business.
  • The ability to effectively plan and organise their workload, prioritising tasks to maintain operational output.
  • Experience in the planning and delivery of Emergency Exercises.
  • Experience in the management of operational budgets, with the ability to be innovative in the utilisation of assets to realise opportunities of income generation.

The airport operates on a 24/7 basis and the successful candidate will be flexible and committed to attending at short notice for operational reasons, for example, special events and adverse weather conditions.
